I went for the Chitlangi. A light fast kukri is what I want. This will be my first HI. So can I join the HI brotherhood of kooks with kukris? :D

Welcome HD... there are many here who you would already know even if by other names.

I got my second Khukuri last week which was also a Chitlangi made by Shaila Kami! ;)

Thanks for the welcome, Munchi. I know a lot of folks on other forums who love HI Kukris or khukuris as some say it. As much as I like big blades and choppers, the HI forum seems like a natural for me. I have used and liked kukris for years, but those were CS models and some of the cheap regimental ones that come dull and have aweful handles. When I joined BF I began seeing those beautiful HIs all the time. I am excited to be getting my first HI and at a great price. I'm pretty sure it won't be my last.

i was thinking the same thing, ted. i think it may be trouble as on production knives you don't really get the outward flare of fullers or subtle lumps in the steel, which i encountered on my last AK. of course it's only a cosmetic problem, and we know horn dog doesn't really care about that. he has the buffing wheel anyway.
