Like that VBGRS. Heck, I like them all. How do you people do this? I could seriously bankrupt myself hanging out at this site. Good thing I have limited funds, or I would never leave. I spend a great deal of time learning about convexing yesterday, so I'll be practicing on my other blades. Don't want to mess up my nice new khuk!

There it is, a 9inch baby Chitlangi, just like I was talking about yesterday. This one's even better than mine. Quick! Somebody buy it, I can't afford another khukuri.

Can't resist this one, and hope I'm not too late. First regular production chiruwa BGRS (non-villager) I have ever seen, and right at the perfect target weight and length. (Also first plain handle I have seen since the movie model...)

Would have got one of the others too if it were not for the extended bolster:(

Almost missed this, because I had to take a phone support call RIGHT when I was going to order!
And the person was not in our database, so I had to create a employee support record for her too!!!

Maybe something was trying to stop me from getting this... But I did not listen:confused:

I used to think Nasty was the karmic one for getting good deals, but Norm is right there with him.

You guys that are getting those chiruwa BGRSs are in for a treat. I just finished unwrapping the one from the specials of a couple of days ago. Also Bura. The balance is superb, the edge VERY sharp, the buttcap fit is about the best that I've seen.

Can't wait to try this one out.

If you got the one from 8/10, it WAS a beauty. This one is pretty much the same, 3 oz. heavier, I think. Nice khuks....

I keep missing the Chiruwa BGRS! I hope they keep making them cause I want one

Me too...I haven't even gotten my first yet. I love knives, though I don't have but three of them including the khuk that's on its way.
I had narrowed things down to the WWII and the BGRS and now I really want both. The chiruwa handle is just the olive in the martini for me. I hope there will be more in the future, several months from now when I can justify it to myself ;)

I'm still here munk...just sitting on the sidelines for a bit. Greed brings bad karma...

I really like Yangdu (Ang) she is a lot like Uncle Bill, She sent me my stuff before the money ever got to her! Shes a classy woman :)

Well, I guess that explains the 100 lb. meteorite through my living room roof this morning and the flesh-eating bacteria that appeared on my foot at the same time as I greedily snapped up that BGRS and sit here greedily fondling all my khuks! They're mine I tell you! ALL MINE!!!

By the way, I've written to Yangdu and bribed her to send all the Deals of the Day directly to me first thing each morning. I'm tired of competing with all you guys! Dang greedy sharks! Sweet has been especially irritating lately, greedily gobbling up knives that are supposed to be mine!

But, I guess I plead guilty.

Reminds me of when I first started driving cab in 1982. I was motivated to say the least. I was on the street with a driver in his late 50's, who poked along, took a 2 hour lunch break each 12 hour shift, stopped and visited with his friends for at least another hour, made sure to pull over behind the shopping mall and take a nap, then swung by his girlfriends house for a little midnight loving, then would hit 3 or 4 bars each shift for a drink or 6 before resuming his driving career. He usually booked about $60-$75 a night.

On the other hand, I was just 26, drove like a demon, ate with one hand while driving, took bathroom breaks only when I was about to explode, and would drive 2 extra hours each night if possible, pulling 14 hour shifts regularly. I was broke and had a newborn baby and wife to support. I set a company record for the most consecutive nights over $200, the most nights over $300, and the only nights ever over $400.

One night while I was taking my pay in cash this guy informed me in front of the other drivers that I was a "greedy bas^&rd", and was taking $ out of his pocket.

Yep, "no contest" there bud! (-:

N.

(Another reason I almost never list in these threads that an e-mail has been sent, so that only Yangdu knows of my greedy collection mania! ;) :D Won't happen again... )

I hope this regular production is just as good as yours Aardvark. I actually have very few Chiruwa handled knives. There seems to more fit and finish problems with those handles sometimes than there is with the regular handles. I do expect though that this one will not be as sharp as your Villager, as those really seem to come out much sharper without the full polish dulling the edge. I'll try and get the edge back though.

Thanks,

Norm

AA, that's the one. I SERIOUSLY considered the 20" WW II, as I have seen only one of those over the years, but the curve of the BGRS got to me.

Good luck with yours.

You too, Norm.

Not that either of you will need luck. This is a great place to shop.

Tychoseven was wondering how we avoid going bankrupt. Real simple: we've given up trying.
