Well, another Parang and for $20 less! I hope that does it for ya'll.

I also agree a wood handled one is something I am waiting to see too.

Nice grab you two, I'm liking the trend on the slightly thinner spines hopefully it translates to better slicing and doesn't give up much durability.
Killa I'm waiting on a new/old style Bonecutter but that one looks sweet

I'm waiting on one as well. However, I still like the design of these and if they are going to be replaced by the new/old style, I might as well grab one while they're still around. Also, this (or an 18" WW2 that I also picked up) is going to my father :)

Looks like I'll be expecting 3 knives in one package! And a mild case of broke for awhile :(

horn stands up better than wood and stays looking nice longer than wood in my experience.
if you find it too slick, it is simple to rouge up with fine grit sandpaper and it even stays nice looking after you do that to it.

I'd agree with you on everything except the staying nice longer... that's dependent on the level of maintenance IMO. Horn is generally under more natural stress than wood meaning that it is more prone to cracking when exposed to constant shifts in temperature and humidity (hence why we see more DotD blems with cracked horn handles than we do wood). It's fairly easily remedied by simply keeping the horn hydrated though ;)

Based on the Parang, I'd say that handle-carving is reaching a higher standard now.

Yeah, I am having trouble seeing what makes it a villager vs the one I bought.
It looks fantastic to me. Someone should snap that bad boy up!
