What an absolutely outstanding selection today! Yangdu, your photography and descriptions are poetic.

Two carved handled pieces, chiruway WWII, and that sword.

Wow.

Steve

Oh yeah...that sword seems like a cross between the Katana in handle and Tibetan Sword in body, with the inclusion of a fuller.

Them Kamis getting all creative...

damn! this is sooo hard to resist to strong appeal of those blades, the 78$ WWII kuk and that wood sword are awesome, ...

i recently received 2 HI kuks (my firsts) and i have to say there is really an aura around those blades, it might be the early excitement but i have other blade and none of them actually have the same feeling in hands,

Alex "currently trying very hard to resist the temptation (and waiting for a Pen kuk deal)",

Walnut wood handle WWII gone.

That AK w/ the carved handle by Kumar looks beautiful.

One of these days....

I tried....
I really did....
I was going to be good.....
Oh well. :o

Email sent on the sword. Maybe someone beat me to it.

Somebody grab that 12" sirupati. You won't be sorry. $50 buys a lot of "little" knife:D Where else is a foot long piece of differentially tempered steel and buffalo horn called "little?"
I'll give ya a few minutes, then I'm on it

12 & 15" Sirupatis are very useful in a lot of situations. Good camp knife, much better chopper than a bowie. Just a great "little" knife. My first khuk was a used siru from Gurkha House. The rest is history!

I hear the clock ticking Bri. Can you hear that lonely little sirupati calling you? :p

Steve

Whew that was rough. Thankfully I got on after the sword went and the Sirupati was gone before I could cave...

Unfortunately, I couldn't resist the Ang Khola, though I swore to myself I'd hold out for a Bura 16.5" WWII villager as a field knife. But, the Bura villager WWIIs that post evaporate almost immediately. So be forewarned: sooner or later I'm taking a string of vacation days and carpal tunnelling myself into one.

I have a couple more newb questions...

1) How do you make a purchasing decision between a relatively light Ang Khola (15"/20 oz.), BAS (15"/22 oz.), a Ganga Ram (16.5"/25 oz.) or some WWII (16.5"/23 oz.)? Is there a functional difference from the shape or are they hardened differently or in different places or anything to give the AK the reputation of being indestructable? I've looked at the charts, but I don't see what would make a huge functional difference, at least at the smaller sizes (pre 16.5" Chiruwa AK) before the AKs curve further down the length of the blade and get heavier after the curve. If we put 10 of these mixed on the bar would most people with experience agree immediately which was which or would there be disagreement escalating to a drunken brawl?

2) How red is the red sheath with the Ang Khola? I can never tell from pictures? I bought the Ang Khola as my field knife (the 32 oz. weight from the 20" WWIII have isn't a problem on the LCE, but it is a little cumbersome - at 5'6" I look, and tend to walk like, a pirate with it on). Has anyone purchased other sheathes for these that work well on a web belt and have a space for the tool pieces?

They are all good for something. You can do it all with any of them, but some are better for some things than others. Thats why you have to buy 26 of them.
Just to keep your mind from panicking should you ever need a knife for making pancakes under water.

(for which, a Ganga Ram is probably the best)

Steve, if you got that sword, you have my sincere congratulations and thanks for saving me $165.

Let us know how it swings.

26 of them is a good start.

Don't GOLFERS have all kinds of clubs? And aren't they all just used to hit the ball? Same difference.

You're welcome bud! I live to serve. :p :)

It looks like a new variant. Wide like the Tibetan sword, but with a fuller. We'll see. Can't wait!

I am glad that I managed to get the
