What a great selection today:) Is it just me, or does this new FF handle sort of look like the mating of a FF blade with a modified RSD? The flair and the brass spacer between the blade and handle really remind me of that. Looks great whatever the inspiration was:thumbup::D

There are so many wonderful blades and deals up today that it would be hard to pick one to come home to me if I had the money.

Congrats to all you spoiled sharks.

I like how the top edge of the UBE is beveled or "relieved". I bet that helps with the balance and looks like a beauty.

My JW Foxy Folly came today and it is sweet. It has jumped to the top of the list for my favorite khukuri.

That one is gorgeous! I want one! I've been out of the loop for quite awhile, I'm guessing that one is fairly new? Heck, I want two- one for me and one for the wife (a newly converted kukri enthusiast since our last camping trip)

will there be more?

oops. Just read "exciting new design" hehe...just got back from the North Slope, it'll be awhile until I'm civilized again. Until then I'll just drool and grunt "me want" repeatedly.

The JW foxy folly is well conceived and executed.

The Kamis appear to deliver the goods.

I wonder what other blades HI makes that would benefit from a modern interpretation of the form, like the JWFF??

One reason I like HI so much is that Yangdu listens and tries new things.

That Kumar Karda is still there? What a wonderful simply elegant blade.

As the sayiing goes - opinions everyone has one - viewers can see the goods are nice. The talk about drooling over one or another is freak'in cheap and I don't see many "sold" notices - instead of pimping the goods in your mind try working overtime at your Walmart jobs and buy some of them. Just an opinion - nothing personal.

Can only speak for myself, but I'm not into expressing praise for anything of any kind that I don't honestly consider to be exceptionally good (a trait which sometimes doesn't go down too well with people).

I'm not sure I understand. Is the only way we should show our appreciation of fine looking work is with our wallets, in your opinion?

Not certain I understand why someone w/ only 17 posts in 3 years would waste one...nothing personal.

Admittedly, once in a while I tend to think "Should I praise the noteworthy items in a DotD if I can't quite buy them at this point in time?". But I figure, it's still praise for the kamis, even if the timing isn't always optimum for the drooling admirer to act on their desire.
I'm not as hardcore as some of my fellow HI forumites, I indulge in non-blade goodies from time to time as well. But I feel the pull of the HIKV enough not to feel guilty anymore. :)

Got the Uddha over the weekend, and boy, is it nice! I want to read up on this style of short sword, it has a strange aesthetic appeal. Also, it came with a little R3 knife too!

I may have to get a few pics up over the next few days.

Also received the 18" villager CAK also by Bura, and I have to say, he ain't the master kami for nothing! Aside from the rough blade finish typical of the villager models, this is one finely put-together khuk. The handle is the most comfortable khuk handle I've ever felt. Alas, I bought this as a gift for someone else in advance for Christmas... I hope they can appreciate it as much as I did inspecting it!

Thanks again, Yangdu!
