Gosh durn it BB, my mission for today was beat you. I could feel in my cells there was gonna be a nice DOD today, so I been a checking regular. Only to find out you and your magic carpet beat me once again.

You got special powers dude, I tell ya...........

Now I gotta go look some more. Nice blades as usual.

Great catch davidf99. Got my fingers crossed you get a DD. The HI Kerambit seems to be wonderfully shaped. Much nicer to fit your hand than the standard parachute chord wrap. Going to have to save my pennies for one.

Most paracord wraps for karambits are too thin, but they don't have to be. I have a training karambit with a wrap where the cord intersects at the sides, so it has an oval cross-section of good overall thickness. If it were a sharp karambit and not a trainer it would probably be an EDC for me.

I got the Done Deal on the Kerambit.

This is not my first Kerambit (HI and the more common type). The usual Kerambit is a specialized fighting blade, pure and simple, whether it has an adequate handle or not. The HI Kerambit is much more robust and versatile. It's actually quite a practical knife for many purposes.

I'm hoping that this one really is 18 oz, and that it's not a typo. That would make this almost 2 oz per inch, which is even more robust than other HI Kerambits that I've seen.

Yup, a person can do a lot more stuff with the HI kerambit than most others which are in my mind single purpose fighting knives and not much good for anything else.

The HI version can fill many roles and work like an ordinary knife, or I should say extraordinary knife if it's an HI.

I thinking and planning on a good functional daily carry sheath for mine. Might rotate it with the micro bowie from time to time.

Though the karambit started out bigger and as a hand sickle for agricultural use.
