Thanks for giving all of us rough necks a place to feel welcome. This is my favorite part of the forum by far. I can easily say that the folks here are becoming friends and conspirators. hehehe...

There are a couple of things I want to ask about.

How can I "outdraw" these guys on the daily specials? Is it just a luck thing or does a guy have to camp on the site? These guys are fast!

Next...this might seem out there...but ...
As a smith and a knife maker I have great regard for the work of the kamis of BirGorka are doing. Would it be acceptable to send a care package from all of us here. Not sure what kind of stuff would be appropriate or would even make it through customs. The idea would be to have all of us knuckleheads send stuff to you...and then have you ship it.

I lived in South Korea for a bit. Gift giving was a show of respect and esteem. It would be great if all of us on the forum could help the mfolks at BirGorka know how much we appreciate them. Maybe we could include photos of ourselves so they could see our smiling faces and know we are real people.

I told you it was out there.

How about it guys?

Thanks again Bill. Look forward to shaking your hand one day.
Shane

Check out the website on charitable contributions.

Bill generally posts specials by late morning.

Sometimes he surprises the night shift with some in the early evening.

Thanks for care and concern. About the only way it is feasible to send stuff to Nepal is via Pala when he returns from his annual visitation here. Customs and shipping costs are prohitive.

Photos are fine. Best to send them via email and I can forward them over for printing and posting on the BirGorkha bulletin board.

OK...well...thanks for responding Bill.

Anybody interested in sending pics to the Kamis from their admiring fans...or should I just shut up?

Shane, if I get some good pics of me, I'd be more than happy to share them with the Kamis. Also, when Pala makes his next visit I'll help donate something.:)

Hi Shane! I like your ideas alot; perhaps some of us could send them pics of us with khuks they have made, or pics at work making our own knives ~ showing kindred spirit and what not.

Many times through the years Uncle has done promotionals and fundraisers for different causes involving the kamis and/or their families. There have been monies raised for holiday celebrations, medical expenses, helping put kids through school. If you hang tight you will see these come around and then we can jump on board.

As far as blems etc? Give Uncle a call, sometimes he will " have this SPECIAL one" hiding out with the dust bunnies. Worth a try;)

adios,
stevo

Good to know there are some like thinkers out there...I'll watch for those charitable opportunities...and try to give Uncle a call...Thanks, Shane

Yeah, these knifemakers tend to know lotsa stuff and aren't cheap in passing out information.

Bruise and Munk...
I tried other parts of this forum...but found the folks to be less than friendly. Part of that was probably my fault...full of piss and vinegar.

But I really like it here.

If there is any informmation I can pass on as a maker I will. Khukuris are new to me. But any general stuff is easily shared.DOn't get me wrong I am no expert. Just a guy learnig a bit at a time.Just getting to the point where things are working.

Thanks for helping me to feel welcome.

Wendy says hey!
