Please take some time to go back through HI history one page at a time. It's really interesting, there's:

Giant 6lbs Bolo
Cat Dui Chiruwa
Christmas Katana
Dragon Handled Saber
etc.

I don't have the time to remember all that I've seen over the last few days, but it's really cool.

Oh, and don't repeatedly try and stab hard wood with a CAK. :) Possibly more on that later...

Tsimi took a lickin' and kept on tickin'! I remember the days of cursing my online connection for being too slow to keep up with the action.

Definitely the best of the best.

Linking all of the cool stuff would defeat the whole idea of you paging through history no?

As you say Duzzy, its all about reading it for yourself. ;)

My emphasis added, for strangely and amazingly, once you start going through it you soon realise its not just about old threads and their information but rather it is still alive with the spirit of the folks who made the posts.

Kismet--I'm honestly not sure what you're saying, so I'm not sure how you interpreted my initial post.

My idea was to entice some of the members I've seen who, like me, have only recently joined to explore a bit. The BF Forum default only shows a month's worth of posts and that doesn't cover a fraction; the HI sub-forum goes back to 2002 and I have yet to explore the archives.

So my point is to go exploring because you may find the blade that speaks to you isn't in the DOTD, but in the past. And you simply need to throw lots of money to get one remade. ;)

I would not dare speak for anyone but the thread to which Kismet linked is the most (in?)famous thread ever written on BF which started here in Himalayan Imports in the days before there was the off-topic Cantina.

It is a celebration of the wit, humor and spirit of early contributors to this sub-forum and gave rise to many of the expressions particular to the HI community.

I've been reading it off and on for many months and will one day finish it.

I started into it looking for something related to this topic, and I suppose that is precisely my problem. I'll have to re-read it with fun in mind.

Oh, and Butterfly Swords. :D

Yup.

:)

Most folks probably already know about this already, but this was asked recently at the Cantina: if all you are seeing are 2 pages on the HI Forum, you can easily go to the 'Display Options' at the bottom of the front page and change the settings to show the past month, year, from the beginning etc. options.

Thanks for that. I favor BB3 forums myself... so I'm not up to speed on the Bulletin settings. I figured the forums were auto-pruned and that's why there were so few pages.
