I know a lot of you guys deassist your Blurs. I've been thinking about doing that to one of mine, but I'm (maybe irrationally) worried that in doing so the knife may lose its blade retention. For those of you that have deassisted yours, how is the retention?

My Blur has a bit below average retention, but it's still good enough for me. It might vary somewhat from knife to knife, too. The simple answer is just to deassist it and check for yourself - it takes all of five minutes to take it apart, pop the torsion bar out and reassemble. If it's too weak for your tastes, a couple more minutes to put it back it.

I agree 100%. It has a detent so it can be deassisted, but the retention is pretty weak. But its up to you to decide if you like it or not. The only advice I can give is to try it. And when you deassist it, take it apart and/or put it back together with the blade open
