Hello!

A good client of mine asked me to make a Bagwell style fighting bowie. Here's what I came up with...

Blade is made from O1 tool steel, over 11" long and 1/4" thick.

Very nice! That is a great piece of bocote (or zicote?)! The sculpting is very nicely done and going "pin-less" was a nice choice as the grain flows so nicely without being inturrupted. Great grind lines and great job on the profile. What did you use to blacken the guard? It looks great, and again was a choice. Thanks for sharing.

That is my style of Bowie, I love it.

I would love it more with a Coffin handle, yours is great though.

Beautiful knife - I like that a lot
(although it doent necessarily scream Bagwell at me...and Im a big fan of Bagwell bowies).

What mr. Vigil said re coffin handle.

Doesn’t get any more nicely finished than that...exceptional job.

Awesome! The first thing that came to mind was Laredo Bowie blade shape with a much improved handle design. Like the guard, not too big, just enough to keep hand from slipping onto blade. The handle looks very comfortable and would keep knife firmly in hand with the contours and flared shape at the end. To say I like it is an understatement.
