Today we were getting the pond ready for winter when my brother in law flicked my Rampage to it's murky death. He was cutting some anchoring rope for the airator when splash. I was devistated. That knife has skinned more deer and prepped more food in our kitchen than any other. It is the perfect blade design for skinning and boning. We spent about 2 hours looking for it with a magnet until the cold got to us. Farewell my old friend!!!

That's the worst, sorry to hear that. At least you have a use for that magnet once the weather gets better!

Worth a try, get the canoe in the water and drag for it with one of those powerful magnets that are on the market.

Will a magnet attract 440C since it is ~17% chromium? I do not know, so thats why I ask.

Good news guys!! I found it and all is well. The pond is 18 ft at it's deepest point. It was tricky and was laying in an under water brush pile. We used a friends underwater fish camera to locate it and then the magnet to drag her out. Worked great.

Seem like a regular deep sea recovery mission.:D:D:D
I'm Happy it all worked out for you.

...underwater fish camera to locate it and then the magnet to drag her out.

Real men don't fish with technodongles!

Kidding aside, really glad you found it, and was surprised to have heard of such a recovery mission.

The knife must have really meant a lot to you guys.

Great luck: my mother chucked my dad's revolver in an 80 ft deep lake: no hope of finding it.

Still need to get one for my collection, great design and ergos in forhand/hammer/saber grip...
