Hi all,

I just received a knife that I purchased from Jake DeBaud at DEBAUD BLADES and I am very impressed with it, very well made and heavy duty. I have been collecting knives for many years now and have a lot of favorites when it comes to knifemakers work and a lot of not so favorites but it's not very often that I run across a knife maker or a knife that really amazes me. I am really impressed with Mr. DeBaud's knives, his craftsmanship and professionalism; I told him that I was very surprised when I came across his website and knives, that I hadn't already heard of him before especially since he has been making knives for eight years or so; I think it's just a matter of time before he blows up and gets more famous.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience and to let everyone know if you get a chance check out his knives at http://www.debaudblades.com

Jake is an 'up and coming' knife maker. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. This guy makes a knife to be used and abused. Does his own heat treatment and stands behind every blade that exits his shop. He is putting out some nice stuff in 80CRV2 and other steels.

Jake also is a master at constructing Damascus knives. His blades are certainly worth a look and probably will be highly collectable in the near future.

Came across a tanto style blade in A2 about five years ago made by Jake. That knife has stood up to just about everything I could throw at it...just tough as nails. Picked up the knife at a gun show in Phoenix from a vendor who said he had used Jake's Knives for many a hunting season. Good stuff to say the least. Check him out if you want a solid blade that won't buckle when the chips are down.
