Debris management for 2x72 belt grinder

I seriously used the belt grinder the other night and determined the following:

In vertical configuration it sends most debris directly to the floor below. When in horizontal mode it is more akin to a drunk guy in a truck stop bathroom. It simply sprays everywhere. I guess, I should be happy it is not spraying in my face, but that is not the point.

I am sharing a space with someone else. It is not in either of our best interest for there to be a layer of black dust covering their work area and projects in process. Especially painted things, stained glass, and other items.

How best does one reduce the output of such debris, capturing it if possible.

If it matters, I am using the Ameribrade 2x72 on the skeleton pedestal.
FWIW, I have a ClearVue 1800 with 6" ducting for handling dust and chip collection from my woodworking tools. I am a bit reluctant to have grinding metal debris going into that for fear of what might happen in my collection bin with existing wood flour. But I do have it. I also have a small dust deputy setup that is attached to a whole house motor. Again, it is mostly used to collect from wood working tools, such as sanders and the like, so it doesn't seem like the best place for it to go.

You need a GOOD dust collection system with collection chutes at the turns of the belt. A large catch funnel below in the upright position is the norm.

Use the custom search engine and search "Dust Collector System". There are probably 100's of treads with photos and some build info.

Get a dust deputy type collection. I use one from harbor freight and put water in the bottom of the bucket to catch and cool any hot metal dust/sparks before they go into the vacuum. I need to get better collector ends to put near my belt sander though!

This is going to be very difficult if not impossible to manage. I have the dust deputy and sweep up etc. I shaped two micarta handles the other day. 95% of it was going right into the collector, but at the end of the day there is still fine dust every where.

Sorry man, I think you're going to be fight a losing battle if someone is going to have painted things drying in there.

My shop is temporarily setup in my garage until the shop is finished. I have it completely partitioned with fiberglass welding blankets from almost floor to ceiling, and use the other side of the garage for storage. I run a spark bong, heavy duty Dust Deputy, 1Hp dust collector, and a 1/3hp, 1100CFM, 1 Micron hanging filtration system. Dust still finds its way EVERYWHERE.

For non-sparky work this is the best I've come up with. The Locline on a cyklone separator.
