Hey Guys…

Here are a few pictures of my shelter…

It’s hard to get a good idea of what is going on here because there is no depth perception

View of the cut away side wall..
Entry is to the left under the bark, bedding is to the right of the bark.

Eric say it isn't so! There have been reports of people asphyxiating from their tongue and throat swelling up!!!!!

I guess you won't make that mistake again. :( How badly does it burn?

I only nibbled it a little and then spit it out..
I knew I made the mistake as soon as it started to burn..

Burn was like a fairly hot pepper. I could see if I popped in a handful it would have been a problem for sure...

Great pictures Eric, looks like the cubs were having a blast!

I tasted Jack and the Pulpit along with Joezilla last weekend. Very small amount GP!

IT IS LESS OF A BURN AND MORE LIKE SOMEONE STABBING YOUR MOUTH NUMEROUS TIMES WITH A NEEDLE!!!! I am a sucker for anything hot and spicey, and the knuckle head who described it said it was hot and spicey.
I will seak revenge on him, I hope you are reading this Knucklehead:D

I have read conflicting info about the concentration of the poison of the plant. One source listed the leaves had the most and another the tuber like root.... We sampled the root as their were no leaves this time of year. I will never do anything that stupid again; involving plants anyway:o

Anyway, if you ingest enough of that plant it can have some permanent ill effects on you. Including liver damage and worst yet, DEATH!

Great pics Normark:thumbup:

Great stuff Normark! Seeing kids involved in outdoor pursuits makes me feel good. Thanks for being a mentor. I hope to do the same someday.

Re: Jack-in-the-pulpit

Eric the ass was lucky to experience the built in "Dummy Deterent" of JITP. The entire plant is riddled with "Calcium Oxalate". The chemical can reek havoc on mucus membranes and if ingested in large quantities (like using the leaves and roots in a soup) can be VERY BAD.

Ass.
