What software are you people using for design? I am not going complicated, probably just a Loveless type logo if I can't think of anything better.

Any ideas?

Simple:
LibreOffice Writer : Roughly equivalent to MS Word.
You can insert "fontwork" to have text along paths.

Less Simple:
Inkscape. Roughly equivalent to adobe Illustrator.
You can do pretty much anything, including text along paths.

In my opinion, it's worth spending the a couple hours to learn more about inkscape. You can also use it for knife design, business cards, and all kinds of other stuff.

I've been using Inkscape for sometime now. Excellent choice. You can start right in with the basics and learn as you go along. Very intuitive.

If you are looking for a one time design and know what you want. I would suggest taking your ruff design to a design (printing) company. For maybe $25-50 they will polish it up for you in the size and format you want. If you are going to make multiple designs, get a program.
