I'll be heading into a new job here next week with even more sheeple around, and frankly, I just dont use my full size folders to their potential.

I'm looking for a sheeple friendly knife with a 2.5 inch blade. I'm looking at the Buck 503 and put my own pocket clip on it, but would like some other options as well.

Any ideas? Price must be under 40, this is just a simple knife to wear to work.

I like my mini mojo...I think it was 50ish...it's only got 440A steel, but it has an SS/G10 handle, stud lock and AO, which are pretty neat. Mostly, I think it's one of Kershaw's best looking knives.

Have you thought of a Swiss Army Knife? The Spyderco Dragonfly and Kershaw Scallion are good small knives in your price range. The CRKT Rollock is on sale at Smokey Mountain for $7.99. Also check out some of the traditional pattern knives from Case and Queen. Good Luck.

Both my 2.5 inch kinives are customs; a Peter Atwod Solar Arc and a PAtrick Nihiser "Little Teaser". How about a Spyderco Spin? I have one, and it is an EXCELLENT, as well as sharp knife. It is also a frame lock!

I think the Kershaw Scallion, Spyderco Dragonfly, Blade-Tech Mouse 2 Lite, or if you dont want a clip an AG Russell Featherlite Folder. There are more good picks but these are a few in your size range. The Featherlite is a 3 inch folder but is very light weight and thin. THANK YOU! Kevin

Case , AG Russell and William Henry have a bunch of neat little folders . Lone wolf has a couple of nice small folders , ie the Paul Perfecto .

I have a William Henry T09A that is a great little knife for an office carry but it is a lot more than $40.

My Wife EDCs a Kershaw Chive and that little knife has given great her service.

A Spyderco Cricket is another good choice as well as the Mouse II.

Protech Runt, Kershaw Chive/Scallion, Spyderco UKPK, Wegner Mouse, CRK Small Sebenza, SAK, and oh yeah the Spyderco Native and WM for only $40. All good choices.

IMO, I'd stay away from tactical looking folders and go with a more sheeple friendly slip joint from Queen. Just about every paranoid office worker has a Dad or Grandfather who carried one of these knives, so it's something they're familiar with. Queen makes some great little knives in D2, and a small stockman from Cumberland Knife Works will be about $40 after shipping in jigged black cherry.

I carry a small Buck 373($15 at WalMart), in addition to my Lone Wolf T1 or Kershaw Cyclone, just for those instances when I'm around the PC crowd. It's also a knife I don't have a problem loaning out for someone to use who I might not trust with my T1.

The U2 is an EXCELLENT choice. It is very non knife people friendly. It is a very sharp little knife.

In my opinion, any of the following knives would be a good choice for a 2.5" (or slightly under) blade folding knife:

Spyderco:
Navigator II
"S" (newly released)
Salsa (discontinued)
Dragonfly
Lava (newly released, and designed by a great forumite)
Spin
Cricket
Dodo (discontinued)
Mouse (discontinued)
Walker (discontinued, but some of the "sprint run" edition available)

Kershaw:
Mini Mojo
Baby Boa

Boker:
SubCom (designed by a great forumite)

BladeTech:
Mouse 2
Mouse Lite

Al Mar:
SLB

Lonewolf:
Paul folders

CRKT:
S-2 (the smaller model, discontinued)
"14k Summit series" (the smaller model, "Mt. Shasta")
"KISS series"
Rollock
Snap Lock
Snap Fire
Contrail (discontinued, but can still be found)

Microtech:
Option 2 (discontinued)

Edited to add: I just saw your price requirement, so I have marked in bold those models that might be found for that amount.
