Just got back from an overnight with the lady at Deception Pass State Park here in Washington about an hour's drive north of Seattle. I haven't been around the forums much this summer because I've been busy working and having adventures like this just about every week. Been able to get outside a lot lately which is really nice. I had my freshly sharpened BK14 on me as usual and also the 16 and 9 but they didn't see much use.
Super foggy morning. It was sunny about a mile inland from the salt water. This is a bridge that takes you onto the San Juan islands.
Looking to the left:
Over the railing:
Under the bride. Yes you can climb out on it but I just turned 30 and don't do that kind of stuff anymore
Big trees hiking through the woods to the beach (this is actually a pretty small one---a western red cedar):
At the beach:
Behind the beach we went to explore the trees...:
...and found this. A ranger told us that it was a douglas fir estimated to be 850 years old.
My bk14 with it's new TKC scales:
The bridge from below:
Baby muscles:
Thanks for looking!
