Decided on a serrated military

Well, I've taken the SpyderPlunge ;) and decided on aquiring a Military with a SpyderEdge for my next knife purchase. It was a tough choice, with Tim Wegner's design falling out of the top spot due to a Dozier I designate as my big game knife. Odds are one of those will find it's way toward me sometime in the future, anyway.

I cannot wait...

Congrats!

It took me awhile to decide between serrated or plain.
I finally chose serrated because I'm usually cutting type 3 nylon cord, fibrous cardbord, regular cardbord, cargo straps and such.
Works great but now I still want to get a plain edge. :)

A fine choice. I think you'll find that the plain edge at the tip is sufficient for most plain-edge-centric chores.

I traded my original Military PE for a toothed one. I always have a smaller pocket razor like a Calypso Jr or Centofante on me for the food and fine stuff.
I use the Military hard and it remains smooth-opening and sharky-sharp. A pocket saw, a ripcord ripper that I reach for when the going gets tuff.

You'll be happy with that toothy Milie, I believe. Looks mean too.

I bought the plain edged version first, and absolutely love it. Then awhile later I bought the serrated one to go with it. I love that one too. You simply can't go wrong with either.

I also agree with Schmackey; the serrated model has a significant plain edged portion at the front that will take care of a lot of stuff.

"plain-edge-centric" yuk, yuk, yuk.

Enjoy your knife, Jeff/1911.
