What Do You Guys Think?

Normally I would give the nod to a Buck 110, but they are rather heavy and require a belt. That said, I don't think you could do better for value and versatility than the Pink Native. The tanto Groove is pretty nice too.

"Short" list? Lol. I see a lot of budget knives on there, maybe not the best choices to commemorate something? I mean, the Ka-Bar Dozier is a great knife for the money, but would you really use it and not forget about it when you have much better knives to choose from?

Since the Sage 1 is on the list, perhaps you might also consider a Caly 3 or Chaparral from Spyderco as they are roughly in the same price range.

ZT or an upper end Spydie like the sage2, if you're going to do it ya may as well go all out.

I agree with a nice custom. Or you could get a Becker, it's cheaper and it'll last till your grandkid's 20th.:D

Imo I would scratch all of those exept the spydercos and the kershaw I just think you will be unhappy with those others

Its your list so I will try to pick one from each brand listed. I guess if you are asking for knives from everyone that you think is getting you a birthday present, it's good to give options. Different people have different price limits on gifts, for example your parents may get the Spydie for you but the family friend may be in the Kabar price range. Just my opinion, hope you get what you want and want what you get.

Buck: 110

Spyderco:Gayle Bradley

ZT: 0700

Kershaw: Packrat (discontinued now)

CRKT: M21

H&K: 930

Kabar: Dozier (Phat Bob)

If thats a short list, I would hate to see what you call a Long list:p

I like a few of the spyderco's you listed, and the Buck 110.

That's a short list huh? I would ditch almost all of those and get a custom or semi custom knife. Although I'm a quality over quantity kind of guy.

I am going to say the gayle bradley just becuase it seems to be the most special of all the ones you mentioned.

I love your list. If you get this one, you know you have a few options left for the next one. :)

On the knives you selected, I'd go with the Native all the way. S30V steel, light weight, tough as nails. USA made (USA Earth if you're ever on another planet). :)

If you can splurge, I noticed you had the TDI folder. My advise is to stay away from a liner lock folder first off. Second, the design of the TDI is really for a fixed blade. For 30 bucks you can also pick up the TDI fixed blade, and it comes with a nice sheath.

Let us know what you end up picking.

I would go for a ZDP-189 Dragonfly. The ZDP Dragonfly is a good knife to thin the edge out on and use as your pocket scalpel, too thin for many chores, but that one knife that's kept ridiculously sharp often comes in handy.
Carry it next to a larger/thicker blade and you have a well matched pair.

I say Spyderco Gayle Bradley. If you can go higher, then the Spyderco Vallotton Sub-Hilt. Both are awesome pieces of cutlery!

I Haven't Come On A Decision Yet, But I Don't Really Want Anything In ZDP-189. I'm Checking Out The Buck Custom Shop.

I'm Hoping I Can Get A Good Folder, And Maybe A Nice Traditional.

+1 on the Phat Bob. If you don't find it fugly, it's a very good buy. I love my Manix 2 in FFG S30V. The Stag Arms ones, at least, are still available. I have been unimpressed with CRKT lately, and will not be buying their products again. HK has some great knives. 14650 or 14205 would be my picks, personally. What are you thinking about spending?
