I noticed a post this morning with a Remora and some micarta. Figured I'd mod one as well today. It was getting dark so the pictures aren't the greatest. Still have to finish sanding the handle and do a little file work to it but you get the idea.

Heres what she looked like this morning:

I ground the guard down and applied some handle material and stainless pins. Handles are still thin as thats how I prefer small knives but it gives it a more finished feel. What ya think?

I have actually been wondering if Kydex would work as ultra thin knife scales...i was thinking about adding a set to my Tin knife..,

I've used it on a few different occassions. I wouldn't want it on a knife I pound on by any means but it works well one small knifes for fine work.

that's a substantial improvement. I don't like the waddle on the bk11 and 13. Looks goofalot, reduces usable handle. nice work.
I've used some 3/16" micarta on small knives, and it would probably do very nicely on that too.

Pretty cool. Looks kinda like the one I posted.

That was kinda my motivation Warrior. I do think I will reshape the handle though. The removal of the guard is a huge inmprovement but I think smoothing out the forward finger groove would also help.

I really like it! Even though the scales are thin it really gives it a finished look. Plus I'm sure it will ride well in the pocket!

Looks sweet man. If those scales were G10 it would feel like a high end folder that was stuck open.

This is one of my older remoras and I just wanted to experiment with it. The next one will have G10 on it. :D

You did remind me that this was something I've been planning to do!

But seruously though, thats pretty damn good! As Rogue said, it looks like a folder thats jammed...Does it still fit the factory sheath.
