Friends, I need help. Here the deal. I want to get a new folder. $300 price limit. The knife will be carried primarily in a custom leather horizontal belt sheath from G2. It will not be the primary user, but will serve as a back-up defensive/emergency knife. Quality must be exceptional, as I intend this to be a focal part of my folder collection. I have a few in mind, and many of you have already given me lots of help, but bear with me now and lets get this decision out of the way!
Thanks,
Paul

I second that Jake. I, too, have become somewhat obsessive over the WHs of late. Not exactly "defensive," but truly classy and beautiful.

Russ, LOL, I know, I know. Sorry. Funny, I was just looking at a sweet William Henry in an old issue of knives illustrated. Very nice. I've been wondering about a second hand Kasper KFF. I did a search on the Knives for Sale forum and saw a couple that fell into my price range. Hmmmm. Where could I see some of these William Henrys?

Take a look at Keith Coleman's Banshee model. 3" hollow ground BG-42 blade, .060" anodized titanium liners and bolsters and your choice of many standard handle material. $300 out the door.

Just checked out KnifeArt quickly. The Crawford "Shark" is one sweet knife. Breaks the budget though. Saw the William Henry's-in fact a pair of the carbon fiber ones are for sale right now over in the sale forum. Good price, too. The look good, but are not quite what I'm after. Thanks for the KnifeArt tip-I'd completely forgotten to browse there. Wow!

What about one of Tom Mayo's frame locks similar to the Baywatch Folder he did? I think it was around the $300 range.

Tom

Larry Chew's knives are awesome. You might want to check it out...his basic liner lock might be pretty close to what you are wanting to spend. Smoothest action I have felt. This his standard knife uses CPM420V blade which is killer stuff and titanium frame.

Paul, if you are looking for a centerpiece for your folder collection, your search should start and end with the Small Sebenza. Simply the best designed and built folder available, tough enough for hard work and suitable for any situation. The sheath that Gary designed for the knife allows quick and easy access to the knife, and the smooth action and overall reliability of the piece is sure to please.

Chief is correct, Chew's Cujo Spawn-Spitfire-CTF would be a great focal point in any collection and you cant talk about Larry's knives without bringing up the action (The Voo Doo that Chew do)it's the most advanced pivot out there IMHO.

James, I'm getting tired of telling Paul.
