Hey kids! Here's what I've boiled it down to:
BM Mini-Grip 556 and a Kershaw Tactical Blur
OR
Microtech Mini SOCOM Elite
OR
Masters of Defense Keating Hornet

Any thoughts?
Thanks!
J

I just picked up a Microtech Mini Socom Elite auto at blade and I love it so far. But for the money I would go with the mini grip. Those things are hard to beat on their price (less than half of what I spent on my microtech), plus you get two pretty good knives.

Get the BM Mini-Grip...With that one you have a choice of handle colors, dual thumb-studs or "the hole", plain-edge or combo-edge, and two different blade-styles.

I have a plain-edge Mini-Grip 556, and it's an EXCELLENT little folder!

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Do I go with the 2 really good knives? Or, do I guy with one of the really, really good knives?? :D

Mini Grip all the way; I've heard not-so-nice things lately, a lot of them, about MT's QC. It's gotten to the point that I wouldn't buy one as a user, more as a nice toy. I wouldn't count on it the way I would a BM or a Chris Reeve's, that's for sure.

Go with the BM. I have handled all of these knives. Remember! This is coming from someone who doesn't even like the axis-lock. ;)

Just ordered a Benchmade Mini-Grip 556 with the blue handle, and the satin combo-blade. Also got a Kershaw Blur-red handle with black inserts with the satin combo blade. Can't wait to get them in my hands!!! :D Thanks for the advice everyone!

Man, I'm REALLY sorry!...As soon as you get that Mini-Grip in your hands, you are going to be hopelessly hooked on Benchmade knives.:).
