OK, here goes!
I'm trying to decide between the Leatherman Rebar and the Victorinox Spirit x.
I am most famaliar with Leatherman tools. However, a few weeks ago I purchased a vintage Swiss tool. It appears to be very well made, though there is some slack in the pliers joint. Maybe due to age and wear. Now here's my problem. I want a smaller tool to carry every day. I looked at the Rebar and the Spirit X today. They were in blister packs so I couldn't actually handle them. They are about the perfect size for me. Which one to buy please?

Very tough decision. I would say buy both.

If that is not an option then it is very tough. The Swisstools seem to have the wobble in the pliers head pretty regularly, but that is about the only complaint I ever had about them. The Rebar is a excellent tool as well though not made with the quality of the Swisstool's. Depending on the prices and since you already have a swisstool I would say try the Rebar out and if it's not up to par for you get the Spirit. :thumbup:

Pertaining to the sheath if your speaking of the Rebar I would definitely go nylon. It works much better for me. For the Spirit (doubt you have a choice) I would go leather.

One of the factors in my decisions on multi-tools is whether I can get to the knife blade without having to open the tool. The knife is the tool I use the most. I like the Spirit because all the tools but the pliers are accessible as it comes out of the sheath.

I can honestly say the Spirit X and Rebar are both in the top 5 of my most favorite multitools ever made.

You made the right choice. Its Victorinox for me all the way. I love having all the tools accessible on the outside.

Plus, is there a sexier looking multitool than the Spirit?? I think not!
