Here's my dilemma....I recently traded off my Delica because the handle was too small and didn't fit comfortably in my hand. I loved the blade length and material...it would hold an edge for a considerable length of time(vg-10).

I'm looking into the caly3...I was wondering if I would have the same problem with the handle being too small for comfort...

If anyone has comparison pics of both the D4 and Caly3 that would be great!!

Also, suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for reading....

Here are both, with a Sage, which as a somewhat more hand filling handle, and a Stretch II, which is a bit larger and a has an excellent grip, thrown in...

I don't have a pic like that or a Caly3, but I think it is a bit bigger in the handle, especially with the choil.

You might also look at the Stretch.

EDIT: Didn't see The Deacon's response, he covered it.

WOW...thanks for those great pics Deacon.....suddenly the sage is looking more and more appealing to me!!!

Glad I could help. The Sage costs a bit more, but if you're right handed, it's totally worth it. Just hope I live to see the mid lock version.

what about a paramilitary? blade is not much bigger, but the handle sure is. plus you get s30v and g10

even though it has a longer blade , have you considered the endura4 ?

Yes, I have thought about....and to be perfectly honest the lack of tip-up carry is a deal breaker for me. Just a matter of personal preferance.

No, I haven't considered an Endura, partially because I have an E1 and I'm not very satisfied with it and never have been. I know they have changed over the years but I would like to try a different style knife:thumbup:

Thank you all for your suggestions/comments...please keep them comming.

I switched from D4s to Caly 3s and UKPKs for work knives some time back. The handle wasn't a problem for me but I like the FG blades better and I particularly like having an S30V blade with no lock on the UKPK for work.

I have medium sized hands (in between an M and L glove size) and I've found the Caly 3/UKPK to be very comfortable to hold. I use the choil most of the time and it works very well. They're more comfortable for me than the D4 because of the choil and the slightly different handle shape.
