i found 3 interesting BM knives wed - a axis AFCK w/black D2 blade, combo edge, pre production numbered model, a pre pro AFCK axis w/a std combo edge blade, and a 710 prototype w/a std blade - all are priced a little less than msrp, the D2 AFCK is $150, and the other 2 are about $120, ie they are selling for what a std BM model would sell for w/no premium (for the #/proto) other than the fact they are from a B&M store, selling a little off msrp - i am getting one of the 3 saturday - which one would ya guys choose and why??

oh, and if anyone is interested, i would be happy to pick up either of the 2 i dont want, and ship to any BF member if they send me the $$, i think its a pretty good deal for a proto/preproduction BM

oh, and the D2 AFCK has a hole, while the std AFCK axis has a peg - i though t all the AFCK axis had holes, whats up w/this??

thanks

sifu

PS - am leaning towards the D2 AFCK axis

The axis with a thumbstud is probably an axis TSEK, it's got the same handle as the AFCK but with a different blade and a thumb stud. The steel on the TSEK is 440c.
