Deep carry advice for this TRC sheath

Hi guys

This TRC K1-S is a current favorite, but I'm struggling to find a carry solution that I like.
It ships as a belt knife with a drop loop, but I want to carry it in the pocket.
Its sized just small enough that I think it'll work.

An Ulticlip is an obvious choice, but if you look at the shape of the sheath, it flares up above the top hole.
What ends up happening is the clip is a little too low and there is far to much of the handle sticking up out of the pocket.
What I'd like is a way to attach a clip that will have the top of the sheath more or less at the level of the pocket.

I think what I need is something that will create a little bit of stand-off, to which I can then attach some kind of clip.

Might be a round peg in a square hole situation, but I'd appreciate any bright ideas.

Without overly complicating it. I’d say a 3.3 slim ulticlip if the hole spacing will allow. Back it with some rubber washers and attach with Chicago screws. All can be found from knife kits DOT com.

Good call. This worked, but I had to create a LOT of standoff with multiple washers. I only had a standard ulticlip handy. It works but its not as neat as I'd like:

Looks good , they do make thicker rubber washers up to 1/2”


I make this leather gaskets or spacers for under the clips. They look a little neater placed under the clips. Well at least I think they do.

Rubber washers in whatever thickness you need are available out there. Been using them for years with the DCC clips. The above solution appears to be a good one as well. I have used and like the ulti clips as well. I’ve found that the DCC clips are smaller in profile and at times provide better pocket retention than the ulticlips believe it or not.

DCC makes an excellent clip, there’s one in my pictures above. I have to order more in but I usually have Mummerts, DCC and ulticlips here. I use the rubber washers and leather for all three.
 
Mummerts clips are also excellent. Although they aren’t necessarily deep pocket carry. Depends on the blade and sheath setup. I like that leather spacer. Real nice!!
