Trade Knives American Style... Deer Creek Forge
I've developed a fetish for modern day takes on traditional trade knives.
I've worked BHK Scouts, Bushcrafters, Drovers and am now on this DCF ATK & YATK.
They came scary sharp and after a little brutality on my part, remain scary sharp.
These aren't "look-a-like" imports, but honest-to-goodness steel & wood knives.
I beat them like the owed me money and in sub-freezing temps (low-teens).
I'll let the pictures do the talking. I've only honed the YATK and it was easy.
I'm used to full flat grinds for my larger blades and scandis for my smaller blades.
I'm liking these scandivex grinds. They seem like a nice compromise so far.
They aren't going to be perfect boutique safe-queens, but are for users.
