Deer Hunting in So. New Hampshire

That is his first deer. He has shot deer before, but he couldn't find get them. He shot a nice buck with a bow several years ago, but we never found it, after searching a swamp for 7 hours. He shot a big doe with a muzzleloader, but he found it the following weekend in an old well out in the woods. The area was an old farm over 100 years ago. He always finds where the big bucks are, so we shoot them for him.

My uncle had a 10 year bad streak and had one deer taken from him (long story but by the time he found where it the next am there was a gut pile and a drag away line) then he killed a monster 150 class buck with his bow. Sometimes the wait it sooo worth it.

He is pretty happy. He got him in Merrimack. I was hunting in Hollis at the time. Usually I'm where he was too. Just my luck, as there were two other deer with this one. The guy who cuts the deer up said he had alot of scares from fighting other bucks.What part of the state are you in?

Yeah, a Honda Civic. I have taken deer in a Buick before. Always buy a car with a large trunk. You never know what you will have to shoot and move around. Years ago my buddies dad had a BMW 600 series, he used to put those deer right in the trunk too. Remember the movie The Deer Hunter? They put the deer up on the hood.

Now I have to get mine. Saw nothing today but people walking dogs and hiking in the woods. That's ok the people in Nh were congragulating my buddy all afternoon. Up here people like hunters, and hunting. We keeo the woods clean, and we police our own, as far as hunters are concerned. People know who is hunting in these areas, as most people go to the smae spots year after year. I have never heard of anyone giving hunters a hard time in New Hampshire. Live Free or Die.

Alot of deer taken here this weekend. We are crawling with big bucks around here. Everybody is seeing deer, and some people are lucky enough to shoot them. My cat has disappeared, I guess I'll shoot a coyote, when I see one. Maybe a fisher took him though. This is not the first time. We have so much forest land around here the varmits have alot of hiding places. A guess a little "adventures in butchery along a trail of gore", is in order.

rick, I am from Goffstown and have been hunting in Deering, and Goffstown. I saw 5, 3 were does one was a buck and one was running too fast. New Hampshire is beautifull this time of year, and I love muzzleloader season. I will try again tommorow, and hopefully I will drop a buck with my old Thompson Center .56 smooth bore. Good luck

I heard there are a lot of deer in Gofftown. We hunt in Merrimack, Hollis, Nashua(near Hollis). We used to hunt up north in Barnstead, but there are more deer around here. good luck to you buddy, I hope you get a nice buck!
