Herbivores eat fiber, when it comes out the other end its just processed fiber... that's why some wild animals and the domesticated dog on occasion eat deer poo, there are still nutrients there from the plant kingdom.
Great thread - thanks for the info. I've never really thought about it before, though like most of us, I'm pretty sure it's come up in one way or another.
When I'm making tinder, I really don't consider poo, but you're spot on with the fibers, etc that are contained there. Maybe this weekend I'll give it a try!
