Defcon 1: No knives!!

So I've been slowly thinning out my knife collection to get some money back in the bank and I was actually down to one (waiting on my HEST F too) so I just sold off my para2 and now my hest was delayed again...

So I need some knife suggestions! I'm looking for a folder, around a 3" blade, made of a nicer stainless steel something along the lines of CPM154. My budget is around $350 but that is flexible. Preferably a non-coated blade. It's not going to be beat on so it doesn't have to be a tank, but something not wussy too...

Well, if you are waiting on a HEST, I can see you don't want some EMO/Pussy knife. My suggestion for money well spent would be a Spyderco Manix 2 in 154CM. A hell of a knife and built like a brick sh...er...tank.

I like my garden-variety hollow-ground manix 2 quite a lot. The main practical difference I've found is that it doesn't slice as well as the FFG version, but it's still tough as a bugger and no less comfortable. The fit and finish on my run-of-the-mill M2 just happens to be better than that of either of the orange sprint versions I've got, for what that's worth.

I'm not a huge sebenza fan to be honest...I had an umnumzaan for a while and that was very nice but they are a little slow to deploy and I feel the steel doesn't quite hold an edge like it should since it's only 58ish RC...just not good enough for me to justify spending that much money...now if they came in S90v or something I would own nothing else because the F&F is just off the charts...

And on the GB believe me I would but I'm a stainless steel guy...I like to not have to worry about maintenance.

It seems nothing is quite perfect...someday I'll finally get my HEST F with a custom blade...haha til then I guess I'll keep searching

I just pulled the trigger on a murdered out manix 2 on ebay. got it pretty cheap so even if it isnt my style it wasn't a big deal.

Hogue is a recently new knife. the Hogue ex-1 comes in anodized aluminum or g-mascus handles with 3.5" or 4" tanto or drop point blade. 154cm i believe? google hogue ex-1. i've read nothing but good things and its on my short list
