hello what I wanted to know is whether it is a knife with poor finishing or defect? I bought a mini vulcan and liked it so much I decided to buy the other version of the blade too.

the blade was supposed to have 2 colors right? (San Mai)
it seems that only has a scratch over the blade, I am not saying that is not a San Mai just does not seem like the ones I saw in the pictures:(

why is the brand and model name not written in black like the more common vulcan?

well, i was disappointed when i first received the tanto version of the Vulcan. it didnt have a line along the curvature of the blade, and it's just a straight line like your's in the picture. and now im surprised to see the quality difference between full VG10 and San Mai VG10 blade.

I don't think the San Mai blade is of bad quality, the problem is that the Vulcan tanto isn't equal to the one that Sog shows in their site, and that is a issue for me because every time have look to it I thing " it is a knockoff".
I think they should replace the pictures in the site for the ones that are being produced, because if they dont, customer like we, are going to be disappointed.
the Vulcan mini tanto was supposed to be my second Sog, but it ins´t anymore. I have send it back to the seller.

Okay, so I was thinking about the line that doesn't seem to follow the curvature of the blade and started to look on ebay at the Vulcan tantos listed, and a lot of them have a straight line as opposed to the line as seen on SOG's website that follows the curvature of the blade. Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but it seems that if you have 3 pieces of metal of constant thickness sandwiched together like the San Mai Vulcans, a curved grind should produce a curved line at the point of contrast between the metals. Like I said, I'm not rocket scientist, but my idea makes sense to me. Chris, if you could chime in and maybe tell us whats up with the funky straight line as opposed to the "curvey" lines that would be great!
