Hey guys. I've noticed you guys at times carry a variety of knives, but is there one particular pattern that is your favorite? I am partial to the Stockman pattern myself, and carry a Case CV medium stockman all the time, but I also love Swiss Army Knives. I have a Super Tinker that I absolutely love. It such a useful knife. However, I would have to say my Stockman is the one pattern that people think of when they think of me. So, what pattern defines you guys?

Hi,

Welcome! Light and set a spell. The coffee might not be good, but the company here is.;)

Like you, I have spent a good many years with a stockman in my pocket. But lately, I've taken to carrying a Vic Soldier. And my poor, beloved Stockman now sits staring at me from my desk most of the time.:(

Still, I think the stockman is the pattern most people would recall emerging out of my pocket.

My favorite, any what I have carried the most is a moose, so its probably what I would be recognized for.

I have a feeling hiugh that in several months I could be recognized for the peanut if I continue to carry it.... since I seem to be carrying it the most lately..

Over the years, I've probably carried some variation of a two-blade-jack type slippie as much as anything.

I really like the stockman, but my favorite is the TL-29 pattern, the harness jack is another good one.

I usually carry a Western Boulder 651 or 652. In blue jeans I like the Case 06247PEN, a heavier 3 7/8" length. All are single spring stockmen with a pen blade on the bottom end of the spring. The Westerns are 3 3/8" with a turkish clip, and a cut-out for the pull. Not sure it defines me though, because I mainly collect Schrade and Schrade Walden knives, but these ones find my pocket often. This cracked ice 651 is for sure my favorite pocket knife to carry, even the liners are thinner than others. It's like a wafer in my pocket.

welcome to the forum, LatinoHeat!

I can't think of any defining knife, exept it would have to be a slip joint. I started out with a scout knife, carried stockman, sodbusters, sak's, and the past few years, peanuts. Loved them all. But maybe a scout wouold be it. I've carried more of that utility pattern than any other, from the first scout knife my dad gave me, to the Wenger SI that I've had for many years now. No matter what other knife I have on me, there will always be a second knife, and that's a scout or sak. A while back I got a slightly rusty Camillus scout knife at a yard sale, cleaned it up and am carrying that. Its identical to the one dad gave me when I was 12.

Kind of went back to the begining on that one..

Jackknife, I'd bet I'm not the only one around here that can't think of you without thinking of the peanut, or visa-versa... :)
