Definition? Custom vs Midtech

I think many makers have different definitions. I'm curious to see answers.
 
I agree J. Hoffman J. Hoffman , it seems a standardized definition is not really a thing in the industry. I guess I should disclose my understanding, and at least what would seem the most intuitive to me: Custom should be a knife that was made by commission specifically for a customer according to that customer's specifications. Whether it was all done by hand or there was plasma cutting, water jetting or machining involved doesn't seem to matter with regard, at least, to the word custom. But my understanding is that as soon as anything is outsourced like the aforementioned processed (or perhaps anything else, like engraving, or other embellishment techniques?) it becomes midtech.
