Definition of assisted opener

They basically side step the Auto (switchblade) law.

Most state laws define switchblades as: (Hawaii)

"being any knife having a blade which opens automatically (1) by hand pressure applied to a button or other device in the handle of the knife"

Spring assisted knifes us a spring, but you have to push on the blade itself, not a button in the handle.

Some states revised thier laws to make Spring assisted knives "switchblades," check your's before picking one up.
