New here, so please be gentle. In the descriptions of Versions and Variations of Model 110 knives, the blade stamp is called left or right hand, and also inverted. What are defintion of these terms? If there is a glossary of terms on this web site, please let me know where to find it. Thanks.

Left or right stamp orientation can be determined by pointing the blade tip away (edge down) from you. The left hand stamp is the most common.
An INVERTED stamp can be read with the blade tip pointed down. This is the older style. Modern is read with the tip pointed up.

Click pic 2X. The bottom knife is a right hand stamp. The top two are left hand stamp. All three are considered inverted. Hope this helps!

Thank you very much for this explanation. Now I have another question. What does 'Click pic 2x' here mean?

For a full enlargement of picture, click on the picture 2 times. You will be able to tell that the bottom knife stamp is clearly on the "right" side of the blade.

2TONYB,

Maybe you can help again. I want to find a Model 110, Version 3, Variation 1 or 2, to replace one stolen from me. I see that you show knives of that vintage. Any suggestions as to where and from whom I could get such a knife? Thanks.

From whom? Can't really answer. If you are after a Version 3, I do think you will pay considerably more for a variation 1 versus a variation 2. The later variations can be had for a reasonable price on the Bay. Pursue cautiously!!!

Mr. OneStoneFly, since you are member of BCCI, contact Larry Oden. He can mail you a list of knives that he has for sale (some are consignments). I have not seen a recent list, but usually it has MANY great representatives of the model 110.

Thanks for your suggestion, I already contacted Larry Oden about my desire to find a 'replacement' Model 110. As for eBay, I've backed completely out of there.
