Hi guys,

this is the follow up of my previous threads concerning knife mods http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=828599

I went to Germany over the weekend to collect some of my knifes and also had the chance to take some pictures. Enjoy:

WOW! Those look awesome

Ha, elf choil :D

I really like the FSH and the SAR 3, and I still can't beleive how sweet the TG looks.

Wow!!! I still love that full-choil SAR4 mod. I think Foo did it first. It's awesome!

I bet that BM is pretty danged thin now. Wow! Slices thru air with the greatest of ease.

That HOFSH is sweet looking!

The recurve looks great! The Sar 4 is sweet too :thumbup:

Nice work- sort of-but I'm actually going to be the one person seeing it as half empty- rather then half full. Some of those look a little- i dont know. Butt. removing valuable handle space-Choils don't look like they would from a shop or CLEAN- and almost looks like the original integrity and design of the knives have been changed, rather then them being enhanced-although im not saying I could do an ounce better- so props on some grinding skills and for having the balz.... but im sorry brother- I had to almost look away when I saw that Team Gemini. I'm really looking forward to getting one soon from the prev ganza-and I can't think for the life of me why you would maim and cause harm to that beautiful innocent TG. heheheh. There your blades brother, so don't even listen to me for a second- do what you will-as long as your having fun and your learning a lot I'm sure while your choppn them up. Just wanted to give my .02 cents is all- please don't be offended. I am obviously the minority for not liking some of the mods anyway.

Hey, I'm not that sensitive. Thanks for your feedback. Always interesting to read what different people think. I actually like the TG mod best (or maybe the CGFBM which now looks like a thin FBMLE). I am not so happy with the result of the HOFSH and will probably send it in once more for a more pronounced re-courve.

(...). I bet that BM is pretty danged thin now. Wow! Slices thru air with the greatest of ease.

I expected the same, but the amount of metal that had to be removed to grind down the corrugations was actually marginal. The blade feels slightly faster in hand now but the spine still seems to have the same thickness. Possibly it is 0.24" now, but not much less.

I like the looks of that Skeleton warden it looks like it would be more useful preforming more delicate task by allowing the user to choke up on the handle a little bit.

G R E A T!!!

The look of the SAR4 is like it should have been designed in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I like SAR4, but it's a bit too handle-heavy and the 'elf choil' serves no purpose.

I am with CR33 on this one. "Elf choils" do serve a purpose and many people like them, but to each his own. And a full or large choil on an already short blade will annoy many people as well. They are your knives and you can do to them as you please, but I think in these cases I liked them better before the mods. You never know, I may like your next batch of regrinds better so keep on buying and grinding on those knives!

I like the SAR4..... I'll take it.........email sent. Sure is a lot of chatting going on in here.........

The only purpose of elf choils is to make sharpening easier. This purpose is kept when widening the choil to a usable size by grinding away the talon hole. Nobody will ever put a D-guard on an SAR-3 or GW, so the talon hole can be considered "unproductive knife space" which was better used as either handle or edge. I decided to use it as handle.

I especially love the increased handle length and control on the originally "3-finger knifes" SAR-3 and GW and instinctively hold it with my index finger in the choil. About esthetics I would not argue, but the increased functionality for the SAR-3, GW and also SAR-4 is given without doubt.

That TG is interesting-doesn't look bad to me--and the SAR3 looks cool too. I like the TG and SAR models the way they arrive from the shop as far as shape and dimensions as well but your steel is what makes you happy. I say shape em how you want em-

I have a Sar-4 modified the same. makes the Knife very usable. Love that Sar-3, can you give us a pic with it in your hand?
