I have a HT'd blade in progress that has become slightly magnetized. I have an acute aversion to this, and am looking for options to solve the problem. I have found some instructions online for building a degaussing coil, or salvaging one from an old TV or computer monitor, I am wondering if anyone here has tried either option, and how well it works?
I have seen them for sale but if it isn't too complex I would rather save the $. Thanks for any input.

Looks like you can get one at grainger for $3. I have a fancy one in my shop, but don't think I'd buy one just for knives.

Thanks guys, I found the right tutorial online and made one from an AC motor housing. Gotta love this internet thingy.

I couldn't agree more..... It pays for itself and then some every MONTH... so If I have to keep a landline so I can have DSL, so be it...

It has saved me thousands I'm sure over the years, from autos, to boats, bobcats, machines.. and everything between...
