I am always looking for anoher edc to put into rotation; not looking for "fighters" or "tactical" but want one that opens and closes easily with one hand; have gotten over the assisted opening craze. Saw a Benchmade Dejavoo for sale and, from the description, it sounds pretty much what I am looking for but I am less than a fan of liner locks; most of them I have seen(and own) are not really conducive to the one hand operation. Despite all that has been said about Gerber E-Z outs they still fill the bill pretty well for ease of use; just looking for a longer blade and, face it, another knife! Any input in this regard? Thanks

From what i know of the voodo they open smooth and are excellent slicers cant recall hearing a bad thing about them.

go to youtube and check out cutlerylover's review of it. looks like a classy well made knife.

I just bought a mini Voo
Very nice and a super smooth opening knife, A nice slicer. With a low carry pocket clip Plus a spyder hole you can go wrong.

I have both the regular and Mini Dejavoo, and I love 'em (just purchased the mini from this site). The Lum's are very easy openers, but the liner locks are the weak spot. While the access to the liner is very good in terms of thumb "purchase", I distrust the strength of the lock on both knives. On the 740 (larger), the liner is a bit thin, but locks up good. The 745(mini) seems to have a stronger liner, but it stops a bit shy of where I would want it. I do think I can fix it easily by removing a few microns of material from the liner, or polishing it a bit. The liner issue would concern me for heavy use, but not for day to day tasks.

The handles on both are a very comfortable sculpted G-10, and the flat ground, leaf shaped blade is an awesome slicer. One handed, these open easier than any knife I have. The 740 can be flicked open with the wrist (no thumb action required), but still stays closed solidly. The 745 wont flick open, but the action is very easy.

One of the nicest feature is that the pocket clip carries very deep, and the knife is practically invisible in the pocket, except for the clip (tip down). Also, the clip does not affect the ergonomics of the grip very much.

I think the Mini Dejavoo makes a great EDC, but the larger 740, with an almost 4" blade is a bit much. S30V is another selling point, for me.

I carried one for about 6 months or so, which for me is like an eternity. It would have been my last edc purchase, for a few years anyway. But then i left it in my truck one night. And that night happend to be the night my truck was stolen. Good bye Dajavoo. Anyway, you'll be very very happy. I need to pick up another one.

Hi I have the mini dejavoo. It is currently my favorite edc. I did however find the lockup to be marginal at best. I took it apart and found that the lock bar wasn't bent enough. I bent it some more (that titanium alloy is *real*hard to bend) and now the lockup is great. It feels great in the hand. Blade takes and keeps a nice edge. The G10 is smooth yet grippy. Super smooth opening and closing. Beautiful knife. Highly recommended.

Be advised that taking apart a Benchmade will void your warranty.

+1 on the voo. I had a full sized one for about a year. Great knife.

The blade edge chipped a little at first, but once I sharpened it a few times I never had another problem. The G10 is a little slippery, but the S30v would take a screaming edge. As a matter of fact, I don't think I have a knife now that I can get as sharpe as I could that voo.:(

Probably should have kept it.

I've got a Mini Dejavoo. I think it's a great design, and carry it regularly. I like the fact that it's not particularly wicked looking.

Here's two complaints I've seen in other threads:

1. Weak detent. I believe this has been fixed but the first batch has this problem, including mine. It's not a deal breaker for me. I tightened the pivot screw slightly, and it still opens smoothly, but will not open accidently.

2. The slight "guard" gets in the way of opening. I have no problem whatsoever opening this knife. My thumb touches the guard, but doesn't impair the movement in any way. Maybe some people have extremely sensitive thumbs. ;)

I say go for it.

+1 on the weak detent. I actualy don't carry my first production run Mini-Voo for just that reason. I'm glad to hear they've remedied the problem.
