I picked this sword up out of the classifieds for a nice 260 dollars shipped. It wasn't really even on my short list but I couldn't resist the bargain on the only type XX production sword that I am aware of. Here's the review and some pictures:
Del Tin 5156
Overall length: 44.5 inches
Bladel Length 34.25 inches
Point of Balance: 5 inches from cross
Center of Percussion: 19.5 inches from cross
Weight: 4.1 lbs
Pommel type: H
Cross type: 7
Blade type: XX
Performance Review:
This sword is a cutter not a thruster of that I have no doubt. It does extremly well against hard targets but has a harder time with softer targets due to it's blade geometry and the difficulty of making it move quickly.
Appearance:
A very attractive sword. The double fullers on the blade were well executed. The octagonal grip was also very attractive as well as being comfortable. The pommel was identical to the one on the DT 5143
