Delete Private Messages?

Solution
Although I have deleted Private Messages before, I can’t remember how I did it.
Can do it in bulk from your inbox by clicking the little check-box next to the messages you want gone, and then go to the bottom of the screen, select leave conversation, then click go.

Or from within a specific conversation, there should be a Leave option near the top. Depending what device you're on, may have to click a drop-down to find it.

Got it. Thanks! Leaving now.

I have a semi related question.
When I click on Inbox... I see my conversations and Can delete them. What I see matches what I'm supposed to be allowed.
But if I click on Trash... I get 81% Used (201 of 250 allowed). I only had few "messages" in there. I deleted them all and the number didn't change.

I'm still at 81% :-(

Did you leave the conversations? Go to the trash folder, select a message and choose to delete permanently and see what happens

Those 27 conversations in your inbox may have ~ 10 replies in them

When you're looking at your inbox, it will show the % of conversations. When you're in a particular conversation, it will show the % of messages. When looking at the trash, it also shows the % of messages. There are limits to both.

With all due respect, in my 30 years of IT and contributing to forums. You guys managed to confuse me real good.
If I got this right. When I look in my inbox, 27 is not the amount of messages, but the amount of conversations. Then if I look at each of them, the sum of what I posted and replies I got should total to 202?

So let say I want to get rid of anything older than a year. I need to open each of these 27 conversations and purge the older stuff?

EDIT: I revisited my inbox conversations. It was indeed the amount of replies. I selected the old ones I didn't bother deleting. But delete was not an option (LoL). My best guess was "Leaving conversations". Uh this isn't exactly intuitive but it worked. The 81% allowed has now dropped to 6%. I'll be less dumb going to sleep tonight.

The people who write XenForo have a 'different' way of doing things, I agree

When you go to your inbox you’ll see a checkbox between the title and participants. Once you click one a box will pop up at the bottom. From there you can select all from that page to delete.

thanks, friend. Just discovered that, yes, I have to check a box to get the popup box to appear.
Hardly intuitive. But I wrote it down for the next time I get clogged up and am unable to communicate.

Yes it’s definitely not as simple as it was. Don’t forget to empty your trash folder in the same way as well.
