Ah, good times. Darrin's heat treat is great. I might send a few oil hardening blades your way when I do them. Mostly doing air-hardening steels now, but you'll get a few from me. Thanks for helping me get started, Darrin!

got some W2, getting it ready. How do you feel about distal taper being ground (evenly) before the heat treat?

It all depends on the thickness Tim. Like I said, I prefer 1/8" or less to be flat. 1/8" & thicker can have some grinding done with no problems. Feel free to call if you'd like to discuss it.
