probably CRK and Emerson and Spyderco if I had to pick.

That is because if I had to give up almost every knife I would keep:

My large Inkosi and small 21
A Cqc7v from Emerson
And a Spyderco Pikal.

Carry a BM M390 805 daily. Favorite knife though is made by Walter Brend.
Most in the collection? Spyderco.

Well.. As a long time CASE collector.. Drum roll.... CASE!!!:D John

Tied between Spyderco and Benchmade, Spyderco has the edge though and is pulling ahead of BM.

My Favorite brand would probably be Imperial from their Providence Rhode island days.
they pretty much made every kind of knife I could want, they knew how to treat whatever steel they used, and they're not expensive. They just plain work and I like them.

Now I will say Buck is probably the best company in the business today, when you Buy a Buck knife you join their family. They may not make a lot of high end knives or innovate, but they make a good blade and stand by them.

Full blown Spyderco fanboy here! There are a handful of companies I have a lot of respect for and who make great products but 90% of my knife budget goes to Spyderco.

Buck, Ontario and Cold Steel.

Those 3 brands are a real working man’s knife that don’t cost too much money, also Buck and Ontario make USA made blades that are affordable. I like fixed blades a lot and for the price of a USA made fixed blade ,Ontario and Buck do it right.

If we’re talking about tough folders, the Voyager and Recon 1 are proven to be one of the best for their reliability and price point.

I tend to like ontario for fixed blades and then probably spyderco or cold steel in folders. I like bang for the buck and cold steel gets it for utilitarian at a good price and spyderco for ergos and ease of use.

If custom makers on the forums were a brand, I would choose them every day for fixed blades. I think the only production fixed blades I have left is a mossback B&T from CRKT (designed by small knife maker Tom Krein almost directly after his B&T) and an older OKC TAK 1 in D2. I have 5 handmades from the knifemaker's market including 2 customs made for me.

Folders: Spyderco, Kizer, Steel Will, Real Steel in that order. I am just starting to warm up to Benchmade.
Fixed: Bradford, LT Wright and Bark River. I only have 5 fixed blades and all are 3.5" or less.
