That's correct- SheathMechanic uses kydex. Also, his webpage states he has become quite busy and won't be taking any new orders for a while. Otherwise, I would be tempted to send the Becker in.
I was also thinking of wood- but i like the synthetic materials. Plus, I don't think the wood will hold up as well at the thickness I am ideally looking for.
I've had my necker for around two years and it is a great knife. I've used it more then I thought i would. It's size insured it was always around. At first the handle didn't bother me, but now i'm getting picky and want more. Make it a little thicker, and something that will round off the back and eliminate that stupid bottle opener!
At the moment I've been looking at a Rat3. Seems to be very similar to the Necker, but with a handle that has what I'm looking for, if slightly longer...
Might start a thread to get some comparisons from owners.
