Deleting conversations

try as I might, I cannot find any way to delete (or move to trash) conversations. When I select them and then select an action, there is no option to delete.

There's no need to - if you want to just EMPTY your mailbox, click the Select All box at the bottom.

*Edited to add: to get the Select All option, click/tap Selected under the Navigation menu.
