I've carried the Delica 4 now for a year. It works very well for my particular EDC needs. I'm pretty pleased with that particular knife and I think for the price point it is tough to beat.

I have the stainless model and really enjoy carrying and using it. Good review.

At the Delica 4 price point, its gotta be considered a great knife for EDC. It has a few limitations but it's certainly the knife I carried most in modernized parts of the world in 2011. After the initial edge went I put a razor sharp convex on it and I like it even more.

Perfect knife for EDC in FFG! That being said, I carried a Persistence on my trip to Vegas this year where there is a 3" limit. It definately was heavier, and much wider with G10 scales. The Persistence is a little more intimidating to sheeple, rips though carboard like butter and actually flips out smoother. I EDC the Delica at work though, because I can hide the blade within my hand from the Big Brother that insists we use the "safety knives" - which are always dull and always missing from their designated spot.

What the hell is a safety knife? Some sort of a lame box cutter?

Exactly! And ours are the worst. You have to pull the button back and make a cut, then the blade automatically retracts so you have to pull the button again for the next cut. Plus the blades have rounded tips and the edges are always dull. They are much more dangerous, delicate, bulky and slow then a good Delica.....well a lot of other tools are too. ;)

Hi Iowaguy,

Thanx for the comments. The design has been quite refined over the past 21 years.

I certainly think you are above average in your knife tastes and understanding.

Thanks Sal! I actually met and interviewed you at BLADE 2011. Jeff Randall brought me over to interview you for SWAT. I really don't know that much about knives. I know what works for me. Quick story about Spyderco - I had an all metal Delica (not sure on the version) that my dad had engraved for me. I lent it to a friend for a minute and he broke the tip doing something semi stupid. I sent the knife to Spyderco begging to have the tip redone and they sent it back. It not only had a redone tip, but Spyderco resharpened it! I carried it every day for about 5 years. Then I lost the thing in a Barnes and Noble in Des Moines. DOH!
