Delica 4... FFG or Saber?

I'm thinking of getting a delica 4 very soon. I'm just trying to make up my mind on which of these 2 would be best for me.

My question is, which has been best for you? Which one do you own and why? Thanks.

I own several of both. The FFG may be (is) a slightly better slicer, while the saber will probably withstand more lateral force without breaking.

But you should not be applying lateral force to your knife anyway, so that should be a moot point. But people do dig and pry and do all manner of things with a knife that they "shouldn't".

Just buy what you like. Either will serve you well. There is really not a bunch of difference.

If you use a sharpening system that clamps the knife, the Saber grind will be more compatible.

Try not to overthink it too much. Given the size of the Delica you won't notice much of a difference. If given a preference, I would take the FFG just because Spyderco does them well.

Since my knife sees a lot of picking, prying, scraping, etc, I prefer the saber grinds for tip strength.
If you don't use your knife that way, a ffg will slice better.

I think part of what makes the Delica a Delica is the amazing slicing ability. At least for me. So that points to the FFG version. However I also have the waved version which is saber and that works fine as well. Just not as good in cardboard etc as the FFG.

FFG any day. The delica isn't exactly a knife you use to pry with anyway. FFG will cut much better.

Personally, I prefer the FFG, but I generally pair the Delica with a larger knife. If it was my only blade, I might well prefer the added rigidity and strength of the saber.

No knife is ment for prying, knives are ment for cutting.

Those are my feelings as well but seems these days a lot of people seem to want to pry with them. Hence all the concern about tip strength.
