Does anyone have a Delica 4 with Wilkins scales? I have a Delica 4 on the way and was thinking about ordering a set. I was curious if they are that hard to install? I have a Benchmade Griptillian with a set of Wilkins scales, and they were a piece of cake to install.

Mine went together very easily and fits together flawlessly. The extended handle shape makes the knife larger, but I appreciate this because it produces a more comfortable grip.

Unfortunately the surface of the scale itself was rather disappointing. The surface was very spotty and in many places there is simply no texture at all. This gives it an unappealing visual with the smooth almost polished blotches reflecting light while the intended textured patterned does not. These spots were not merely small visual annoyances, they cover about a quarter of the knife and do negatively affect the feel of the knife and present an instantly noticeable, unattractive visual.

I have installed scales that were not wilkins on a delica and it is a little more difficult that a griptilian. The lockbar is the difficult, though not impossible, step. I could be doing it wrong, but keeping the lockbar engaged with the blade while lining up the screw in the spine took several attempts. And there is a spacer bar within the scales of delica4 that got wonky on me the first time and made assembly difficult till I realized what the issue was.

The bottom line is one youtube video and a little bit of time and this novice got it done.

Thanks, I like them. Got them from one of the knife makers in the marketplace. It's still a thin knife so it doesn't fill the hand like custom scales on other knives.

i would look in there service/pimp jobs section before committing to paying a big premium to wilkins or cuscadi. there work is amaze though.

Haven't tried the wilkins set for a delica yet but would like to share the "Gator" scales by Boomer52 as an option.
Fantastic fit & finish as well!

Just got a Delica 4. Great knife; carry it all the time. My other Delica is all stainless, AUS 8 I bought about 25 years ago. I like those scales.

Where did you get those marvelous scales? How much were they? PM me if needed.

Hi, shuutr shuutr . Could I ask who made those red scales? I really like how they were done and I'd like to get a pair.

I see you show them here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/odoriferous-delica-scales.1206743/

But those look so different. They look squared off.

The pic in this message look so wonderfully curved. Did you just use them till they were perfect, or did you sand them yourself?
