Hello all,

Looking to buy online... Spyderco Delica 4 in ZDP-189 *Saber Grind* with a British Racing Green handle. Would prefer G10 but don't think it's available in such a combination.

I have searched high and low and it's very hard to get an accurate product description of what you are getting. Most are full flat ground. Some have pictures of the saber grind I'm looking for but are actually FFG, some don't say, some say ZDP-189 in the title but the description says VG10... Even the prices are up and down so you can't use that to guess blade steel.

Anyone know a reliable online retailer that will be knowledgeable enough (and able to look through actual stock) to box up a model with the specs I am looking for without any mistakes? I don't want to have to order MSRP from Spyderco to get the exact knife that I want and it baffles me how a lot of these retailers have descriptions that are wildly inaccurate, containing conflicting information, written by someone with no knowledge of the product, or just flat-out completely wrong.

I have dozens of knives, but alas, never got a Delica and want to see what all the fuss is about.

Thanks much.

I'm no expert , but I dont think that Spyderco makes a British Green ZDP sabre grind .
There was one from early that was a special blue ( before British Green was chosen as the ZDP color ) FRN in ZDP sabre grind , they are quite rare and I'm lucky enough to own one .

The zdp-189 British Racing Green Delicas originally started as saber ground blades. It was shortly thereafter when they went to FFG. The saber grind ones are more rare out in the wild.

View attachment 902463 The 2nd knife from the left started out as a saber ground ZDP-189 blade with a British Racing green FRN handle. I turned the blade into a chicken boner and added a G-10 handle.

Great knife and steel, FRN replaced with micarta :)
