Just got my first Spyderco: a delica. Its ats-55, plain edge, reversible metal clip. However, it does not have the half circle cut-out on the back lock seen on spyderco's website. Was the little cut out on the lock a recent addition in the last few months? Should I take out a dremel and grind one in?

Btw, I love it. Freaked a guy out while i was shaving in a public restroom. Hey, I missed a spot and had to use something! LOL. Gotta get an endura and a kydex neck sheath next month!

It hurts to be on the cutting edge. Especially if that edge is a spyderco.

Yes, the Boye cutout in the lock is a new addition.
I have 4 Delicas...3 in Zytel and my new favorite, a plainedge in SS handle.

That's the thing about Spydercos...hard to get just one!

My Delica is finding it's way into my pocket more every day. It is even starting to displace my Native as my EDC. I even just ordered the training model. You could use a Dremel to scallop the lock bar, just do it carefully.
