The new G-10 Delicas have a full flat ground blade.

Does that have any advantage over the standard Delica blade?

Or is it simplty personal preference?

Thanks.

For deep cutting, especially deep cutting on non-binding surfaces (cardboard, vs. cheese) FFG has much better performance.

FFG is in general a better slicer. It is a flatter blade profile. That said it is in general less durable or strong as other blades styles.

There are advantages, but there is also a tradeoff in performance (less durable), so I see it as a personal preference kinda thing.

It is only really less durable as far as stabbing or prying is concerned. For slicing, it is as durable as it needs to be.

Exactly, personal preference. Which is why I'll be getting one instead of a saber ground Delica.

I'll go full flat ground anytime. which is why I love my Caly 3.
